Update System Summary
Refresh card content based on your current system map.
What It Does
Update System Summary analyses the elements connected to a summary card and regenerates its content to reflect the current state of your map. This is useful when:
You've expanded your map and want summaries to reflect new elements
The system has evolved and existing summaries are outdated
You want AI-generated insights based on the visible relationships
How to Use
Go to the Modify Map tab
Select a summary card plus at least 3 connected elements
Click Update System Summary
The AI will analyse the selected elements and generate updated content for the card.
Requirements
1 card selected (the summary to update)
3+ elements selected (the system context)
What Gets Updated
The summary card's content is replaced with:
Overview of the selected system elements
Key relationships and patterns identified
Insights based on the current structure
What Stays the Same
Card position and size
Card styling and colour
Connections to other elements
Tips for Better Summaries
Provide Context
Select elements that are relevant to the summary's topic. The more focused your selection, the more relevant the generated content.
Include Connections
Make sure to select elements that are connected to each other. Isolated elements provide less context for the AI.
Review and Edit
The generated summary is a starting point. Feel free to edit, expand, or refine the content manually.
Select Complete Context
For best results, select the entire map, including the summary card, all connected elements, and any citation cards. The AI uses your full selection as context, so a broader selection produces more comprehensive and accurate summaries.
